Tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes and swing legends
Award winning singer Matt Ford returns to The Apex in Sinatra’s centenary year with a show celebrating Ol’ Blue Eyes and the Swing Legends.
As always, his nine piece band will feature the UK’s finest musicians, and together, they will perform a comprehensive celebration of the hits of Frank Sinatra.
The show will also pay tribute to Tony Bennett, Matt Monro, Bobby Darin, Michel Buble, Andy Williams and many more.
Matt spent 13 years performing with the likes of the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, BBC Big Band, and all of the major UK Orchestras, including a sold out show at the Royal Albert Hall with the John Wilson Orchestra.
He has appeared several times on BBC Radio 2’s ‘Friday Night is Music Night’; once in a tribute to Irving Berlin, with Anton Du Beke, Lee Mead and the sixty-piece BBC Concert Orchestra, and again with John Barrowman, in a show celebrating the work of Gene Kelly.
He has also been heard on BBC Radio 2 as part of their 90th birthday tribute to the legendary Doris Day.
Now widely regarded as our finest big band singer, the last 18 months have been an exciting time, with TV and Radio appearances on The One Show, Sky Arts, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 3.
Matt has also performed at some of the UK’s most prestigious music festivals including Cheltenham, Aldeburgh, Hampton Court Palace and the Welsh Proms.
If you like Sinatra, swing standards and The Rat Pack then this is the show for you!
