The beat goes on at mini festival in Hockwold
A farm in Hockwold will be transformed into a mini music festival in aid of charity for the second time this weekend.
Beers, Bands and Beat It! is on Saturday 25 June at Wilton Farm, in Hockwold, in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.
The family fun and bands day will not only feature a full line-up of music, but trade stalls, food vendors, children’s fairground rides, licensed bar, fundraising auction and raffle.
The event is being organised by a team including Michael and Liz Enefer, Maurice, Tracey and Ann-Marie Ormrod, Paul and Ben Derbyshire and John Maxim.
The festival, which is in memory of Ann-Marie and Tracey’s grandmother who was looked after by the Hospice before she died in August 2013, was held for the first time last July, raising more than £6,500 for the Hospice.
It is hoped the 2016 event will match or beat that total.
Bands on the line-up include Heathen, Ska’d 4 Life, The Bounty Hounds, Molly McGuires, Dwarf Rebooted, Martha’s Wood and Hockwold Academy Steel Band and Choir.
Miranda McCoy, St Nicholas Hospice Care Community Fundraiser, said: “Last year’s Beers, Bands and Beat It! was a superb day, with something for everyone, so I’m delighted it’s back again. I’d like to thank the organizers for working so hard to make the day a success and for lining up some fantastic auction and raffle prizes.
“All the funds raised on the day will help the Hospice to support people facing long-term and life-threatening illnesses across West Suffolk and South Norfolk.”
The auction has prizes including: Red Lodge Karting pass for four; Weeting Steam Rally package including camping and helicopter ride for two; Newmarket race day package; Battle Stations Snetterton pass for 10 to enjoy any activity; L&R Enefer Bros meat package; Ferrari track day at Snetterton; dining out for two packages at The One Bull, in Bury St Edmunds, The Mundford Crown, Brandon House Hotel and The Saxon, in Weeting.
Some of the raffle prizes already lined up are: £20 voucher for Zak’s Diner, in Thetford; entry for two at Fun 2 Play Thetford; gel polish at Katies Beautique, Brandon; Diddlington Nurseries voucher; Norwich Theatre Royal voucher; nail voucher from Finishing Touches Thetford; Brandon Meat Market voucher, and more.
