Suffolk indie-electronic duo Frett play at Latitude
Suffolk indie-electronic band Frett graced the Lake Stage at Latitude Festival at the weekend.
The band, made up of friends Simon Lucas-Hughes and Elliot Buckle, were joined on stage on Saturday by guest vocalist Clarice Parrott.
The band were given the chance to appear at the music festival after being selected by BBC Introducing having played a live radio session earlier in the year.
“We’d like to say a massive thank you to Graeme and Richard from Suffolk Introducing for getting us the slot,” said Simon.
“It was an amazing experience – really good fun.
“We got a really good reaction and had quite a big crowd come see us.
“It was exhilarating.
“At one point I found myself shouting out ‘How are you doing?’ down the microphone to the crowd and thinking afterwards, why did I do that?”
“I guess it’s something you don’t get to do everywhere you play.”
Frett have just released their new single, Drop of Starch, and have already received high profile air play.
As they were performing at Latitude at the weekend, the band decided bring forward the single’s release to July 16.
“I was in the car on the way back from the festival listing to Radio One and Huw Stephens was doing a post Latitude thing – and played our new song,” said Simon.
“It was pretty unexpected.”
The band are currently writing new material and working on their live act.
