THE proud parents of X Factor winner Matt Cardle have spoken of their joy after the talented singer returned home to spend Christmas with his family.
Despite a manic schedule, which has seen the 27-year-old from Little Maplestead, near Halstead, promoting his single, When We Collide, across the country, he was able to make it home to see parents Jenny and David for a few days over the festive period.
Jenny said: “Having him home was the best Christmas present we could have asked for.
“It was absolutely wonderful to have the family together, even though Matt slept most of the time as he’s been so busy. He thoroughly enjoyed Christmas.”
Matt will now begin rehearsals for the X Factor tour, which starts in February.
