Musicians who want to get back into the swing of jazz are invited to join a group that holds regular workshops as well as playing gigs.

Jazz Galore is friendly, relaxed and fun, says sax and clarinet player Peter Scaife from Hadleigh.

“It’s suitable for people returning to jazz after a period away, or with an interest and some knowledge. Fair instrumental ability is needed.

“We play at fetes, fairs and private parties. The core area is Sudbury to Hadleigh to Stowmarket.

“Our style ranges from swing to cool, and our repertoire includes early numbers, classic standards, Latin favourites and popular songs. The main aim is the enjoyment of playing.

Rates are very reasonable, often expenses only for charities.”

Meetings are fortnightly at Lindsey village hall. Contact Stewart McKenna on 01728 768749,
