Acapella stars heading for Haverhill Arts Centre
Vocal quartet The TestostaTones, who have been described by Arnold Schwarzenegger as “amazing” and are one of the most popular and well-travelled acapella groups in the country are to give their first ever performance in Haverhill.
The group, who were recently voted one of the top 10 acapella acts in the country, will be appearing at Haverhill Arts Centre on Friday. February 19 at 7.30pm with their own show ‘Totally Wireless’ which is described as “the story of the jukebox.”
They have sung at over 500 weddings and celebrity and film wrap parties and have performed at such venues as Hampton Court Palace, Alnwick Castle (Harry Potter filming location), The Savoy Hotel, The Royal Festival Hall, Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey filming location), the o2, The Barbican and HMS Belfast amongst many other venues.
The show traces the story of how Doo-Wop and the early 50’s sound came and went and came back again and its influence on early Rock as well as many other genres and features such songs as ‘Blue Moon’, ‘Earth Angel’, ‘Why Do Fools Fall in Love’ and ‘Runaround Sue’ among many others.
The quartet have performed for the Queen at Royal Ascot and were featured live on BBC Radio 2 singing and discussing the genre of Doo-Wop.
They have been described by designer Wayne Hemingway – creator of ‘Vintage’ festival as “Effortlessly cool. The missing song from a Martin Scorsese soundtrack”, Simon Mayo as “fantastic” and Jeremy Vine as “Just wonderful”.
