Sudbury’s positive start to the new East Anglian Premier League continued on Saturday as they held out for a general draw against Vauxhall Mallards.
After winning the toss and deciding to bowl, Mallards set a strong total of 245-7 with Steve Goldsmith impressing with 64, while Ben Hyett took four wickets.
However, with Jay Phillips total of 64 and a helping hand from rain delays, Sudbury were able to hold out to 134-2 by the end of play to claim the draw.
Elsewhere, AFC Sudbury’s Ryman League Division One North campaign came to a disappointing conclusion on Saturday following a 1-0 defeat away at Redbridge. The result left the club with a 17th overall placing.
