Half centuries from Tom Huggins and Darren Batch helped Sudbury see off local rivals Hadleigh by 143 runs on Saturday.
Huggins (69) and Batch (88 not out) saw the Talbots close on 253-4, with Marlon Dias (27) the top scorer with the bat in reply for Hadleigh who were bowled all out for 110.
Batch (2-11), Billy Moulton-Day (2-16) and Ben Reece (2-17) all took two wickets each as Sudbury extended their lead at the top of Two Counties Championship Division One to 14 points.
Elsewhere Halstead lost by 66 runs to promotion chasing Witham, while in Division Two, Long Melford’s trip to Ipswich was cancelled.
In the football, AFC Sudbury lost 4-1 in their latest pre-season friendly away at King’s Lynn Town.
Jordan Blackwell gave Sudbury a 14th minute lead, before Lynn struck four times without reply to run out comfortable winners.
Halstead Town kept up their winning start to pre-season with a 2-1 win against Felixstowe and Walton United Reserves.
