VIDEO: Sudbury Cricket Club claim league title and play-off place

Nathan Poole spoke to sports editor Russell Claydon after his innings of 81 not out at home to Mildenhall on Saturday helped secure the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division One title with one game to go.

The eight-wicket win, with the Talbots having bowled previous title challengers Mildenhall out for 186 with Trinidad and Tobago international Akeal Hosein taking four wickets for 51 runs, also sees Sudbury progress straight through to a home play-off final in two week’s time, with the Two Counties league rotating with the Norfolk and Cambridgeshire leagues for the automatic final spot.

Poole, who opened the batting with Tom Huggins (10), formed a match-winning partnership with Hosien (77) to kick-off the title celebrations at Friars Street.
