Veteran golfers raise money for local charity

More than 50 veteran members of Stoke by Nayland Golf Club took to the fairways for the Vets Captain’s Charity Day competition.

The team of Richard Cross, John Robertson, Tony Osborne and Nigel Grundy won the event with 100 points, narrowly beating Trevor Samways, Peter Jay, Keith Oxborrow and Terry Maddams who finished with one point less.

The day raised over £2,000 for the local charity ‘Helping Hands,’ which supports around 70 adults with learning and physical disabilities from Sudbury and the surrounding area.
