UNSUCCESSFUL APPEAL: Haverhill Rovers manager Ben Cowling

Haverhill Rovers have lost their appeal against the points deduction from the Thurlow Nunn League for fielding an ineligible player.

Three members from the club’s committee were at Wembley Stadium last Thursday, where they put forward their appeal in an attempt to reclaim the points accrued from their 2-1 Premier Division win against Wivenhoe Town on October 29 last year.

However, the club were unsuccessful in their appeal and will have to replay the fixture at the Maple Tree Cars Stadium on Wednesday, April 26.

The Echo understands that Rovers will be releasing a statement later today.
