Sudbury Storms’ Orion Nichol and Connor Hume recorded personal best times in the 100m freestyle at the Suffolk County Championships.

Nichol finished in one minute, 3.77 seconds and HumerConnor in 58.69secs.

In the girls’ 200m freestyle nine-year-old Jessica Deacon knocked four seconds off her time, finishing fourth in a new personal best of 3.09.55. Georgie Hodgson finished eighth in her age group in a personal best of 2.28.33 and Olivia Sherred in a personal best of 2.20.12.

Chris Greenhalgh finished fourth in the boys 200m individual medley (IM) in a personal best time and new club record of 2.15.63.

Session five saw Olivia Sherred continue her good form in the 100m backstroke with apersonal best time 1.11.25. Personal best times followed in the boys 50m freestyle, James Rowley finishing sixth in 37.45, Nichol in 28.90 and Hume in 27.26.

In the girls 50m breaststroke Deacon finished fifth in a personal best 55.04, and 10-year-old Zellah Chambers recorded a personal best of 50.27. Greenhalgh set a club record in the 400m IM, winning in a best of 4.44.42.

Session six saw Nichol equal his best ever time to finish eighth in the boys 50m butterfly, and Nick Robertson was just 3/100ths off his time. CoHume gained a new personal best 30.01.

In the girls 50m backstroke there were personal bests for Deacon 46.06, Caitlin Evans, knocking two seconds off for 37.11, and Sherred finishing eighth in 32.86.

More personal bests followed in the boys 100m IM with Nichol in 1.15.07 and Hume in 1.09.67. Zellah Chambers swam her second personal best of the Championships, 3.50.97 in the girls 200m breaststroke.

James Rowley swam an impressive race in the 200m backstroke to finish fourth, knocking seven seconds off his previous time with 3.15.75.

Session seven saw senior Greenhalgh taking the bronze medal, narrowly beating team-mate Tom Williams in fourth place in the boys 100m breaststroke. A good swim from Georgie Hodgson in the girls 100m freestyle took a second off her best time to finish ninth in 1.08.32.

In the boys 200m freestyle James Rowley swam an outstanding race to knock more than 22 seconds off his personal best, finishing fifth in 3.07.31. Hume recorded a personal best of 2.10.43, and Greenhalgh finished sixth, outside his best.
