Sudbury duo sign for Ipswich Town

Two promising AFC Sudbury Under-8s goalscorers are beginning to dream of a profession carrer after being signed up by Ipswich Town.

Alex Cooper and Kian Chubb have both signed for Ipswich Town Under-9s Academy.

Cooper is the son of Newton Green Golf Club’s PGA advanced golf professional Tim Cooper, while Chubb’s father is a P.E teacher at Thurston Community College.

Both played for AFC Sudbury under-8s who were managed by Graham Chubb, Kian’s father.

The pair had prolific seasons with Cooper bagging 40 goals and Chubb smashing his way to 50 as the team lost just two games and celebrated winning the League Cup.

They were scouted while playing for AFC Sudbury and had 12 months training with Ipswich Town Under-8s. Both impressed the coaches with their talent and were offered contracts.

Although sad to leave Sudbury, the pair will be looking forward to an exciting new chapter with Ipswich Town with their first two games this summer coming against London giants Arsenal and West Ham.
