Storms celebrate individual success
Sudbury Storms celebrated the achievements of their members at a recent annual presentation afternoon.
The Top County Swimmer of the Year and Overall Swimmer of the Year, Male went to Chris Greenhalgh, with 17 qualifying times and Jessica Deacon with six County Qualifying times for 2016.
The Most Improved Swimmer at Club Championships – Male, went to Sam Roberts, and Female – Caitlin Evans. Both swimmers won all the events available in their ages group – 18 in total.
Endeavour Awards were presented to Matthew and Katie Chambers, who barely missed a training session and Katie achieving 41 personal best times in 2015.
Swimmers of the Year for age groups F/M (9 and Under) were Gracie Brinkley, setting 25 club records; Bryn Roberts, who has achieved his first County Qualifying time for 2016 (10yrs); Jessica Deacon and James Rowley, who have both achieved eight County Qualifying times for 2016; (11/12) Caitlin Evans, who finished fifth overall in the Top Girl competition at Development Championships and has nine County Qualifying times, and Sam Roberts who has four County Qualifying times for 2016; (13/14) Georgie Hodgson with four County Qualifying times for 2016 and Charlie Harman with 10 Development times for 2015.
Olivia Sherred (15/16) set six club records, and Laurence Chalk seven County Qualifying times for 2016.
Lydia Bingham (Open) with runner-up Sophia Bingham, both gained eight Development times for 2015, and Chris Greenhalgh four club records, 11 Winter Regional times and National Qualifier for Open Water Championships, along with many other achievements.
