Season ends with presentations

The Clare Summer Cribbage League season ended with a very successful and well-supported final presentation evening at the Melford Working Men’s Club.

The Captains Cup and Doubles Cup were the main events of the evening, which concluded with Stoke-by Clare Lion B team adding two more trophies to the league title and Aggregate Cup they had already won.

Ken Davies and Enid Ince took the doubles title with two straight wins in the final over George Buckle and Don Ambrose from the Working Men’s Club B giving the team their third trophy.

To make the Lions season complete Barry Ebbens added their fourth trophy with two straight wins over Laurie Moores (Melford Working Men’s Club A) to take the Captains Cup.

The trophies were presented to the winners by ex-pub landlord Fred Bright.
