Rowers win four races at Peterborough City Regatta
Sudbury Rowing Club’s junior squad enjoyed another successful weekend, winning four races at the Peterborough City Regatta.
Nick Scott claimed the first win of the day for Sudbury, after winning his heat in the J15 single scull category the youngster won the final comfortably.
Tom Bowles shook off the disappointment of finishing second in the J18 single scull, by winning the IM1 category final against hosts Peterborough.
Sudbury’s WJ15 quad team of Emma Rogers, Natasha Treagust, Lucy Edwards, Amelia Moule and Sophie Masetti settled into a solid rhythm to clinch the club’s third win of the day.
Moule (WJ14) and Edwards (WJ15) both finished third in their heats for the single scull event.
Treagust and Rogers teamed up to come second in the WJ15 double sculls repechage race, just missing out on a place in the final.
The Men’s Masters D Eight team raced well in their heat to claim second behind York, before overtaking the heat winners to win the final.
Elsewhere, Tracey Muir and Tricia McGrillen teamed up to finish fourth place in the Women’s Masters E double scull race, while Alan Muir and Sean Moriarty came third in the Masters B novice double sculls event.
David Wasse and Jeremy Milbank clinched third spot together in the Masters F/G double scull event, and Nick Scott and Julia van Zyl teamed up to represent Sudbury in the double scull.
