Pro wrestling returns back to Sudbury

Professional wrestling returns to Sudbury this weekend when British promotion XWA takes over The Delphi Centre on Saturday (7pm).

The show includes a special feature match pitting Doug Williams, a former champion of America’s Impact Wrestling, against former World of Sport star Johnny Kid.

The event is being run by Sudbury-born Dann Read, a former parent governor of Woodhall Primary School and currently a proprietor of Gainsborough Therapy Rooms.

The championship bout of the night pits British champion ‘Raving’ Danny Blaze against martial arts expert ‘Black-Belt’ Thomas Dawkins.

The match will feature high-flying, back and forth, non-stop, innovative action from two of the most exciting stars in the country today.

Also on the card is the massive ‘Incredible Bulk’ who tips the scales at an amazing 40 stone.

Favourites Voodoo and The Whizz-Kidd join ‘The Giant’ Titan, a wrestler so famed for his incredible size has seen him become highly sought after by Hollywood casting agents. In fact, fans of the Marvel blockbuster movie Thor 2: The Dark World may recognise Titan as The Marauder.

With many of the performers that have competed for Dann’s wrestling events at The Delphi having gone on to sign for WWE such as Superstars Paige, Nevile and most recently Nikki Storm, the opportunity to meet and get photos with the roster at the end of the evening further cements this show as one not to be missed!

Tickets for the event are available now from The Tourist Information Centre in Sudbury Library and from www.XWAtickets.com and for more information head to www.XWAUK.com
