Norwich City fan Edward Seaman previews the East Anglian derby

It’s hard not to be proud of Norwich City this week after two fantastic away wins have put us right in the automatic promotion hunt ahead of Sunday’s East Anglian Derby.

Although the 3-0 at Watford on Saturday looks the more impressive win on paper, it is Tuesday night’s comeback at Blackburn which left me on a high.

We know the quality City possess but it’s been the weak performances when we’ve had our backs against the wall that have let us down.

However, on Tuesday, City showed that resolution, that spirit which looked as if it was lacking at times this season, coming from behind to win 2-1 late on.

It’s hard not to draw comparisons between Alex Neil’s and Paul Lambert’s Norwich City. The work-rate, the ethic, the belief and that never say die attitude.

It’s difficult to pick out an individual to praise after five wins on the bounce but one man who epitomises those qualities is Cameron Jerome.

It would have been easy for him to feel disappointed about being left on the bench on Tuesday having started and scored in Saturday’s win, but he didn’t.

Instead, he came off the bench to change the game and score the goal that got us back level on the night.

It was his 16th goal of the season but what I love more about Jerome is how much he offers to the team with his work-rate and link-up play.

And Jerome is going to be key as we head into one of the biggest matches of the season.

With Ipswich a point above us in the table, it gives us a massive opportunity to leapfrog them, earning local bragging rights and continuing our momentum in the process.

No fixture is easy but with four home matches in March, victory would provide the perfect springboard as we look to make an assault on promotion.

Ipswich are a decent side but there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that if the boys stick to their game, we will come away with a precious three points.

Bring it on!
