No joy for Dave

Sudbury’s Dave Hinchcliffe scored 21 and took two wickets for 23 runs as Suffolk over-60s were beaten by Essex at Frinton.

Essex scored 187 for the loss of six wickets. In reply, Suffolk were always struggling, and had reached 106-9 at the end of their overs, Essex winning by 65 runs.

Captain Colin Walters (Sudbury) faced just eight balls and was unbeaten without scoring as Suffolk over-50s beat Buckinghamshire over-50s II by five wickets at Mildenhall. Bill Byford (Long Melford) had earlier been dismissed for one. Bucks scored 158, Suffolk reaching 159-5.
