Earls Colne B and Lavenham Legion B are tied at the top of the Sudbury and District League after both recorded convincing wins last week.

Lavenham Legion B were in top form in their 5-0 away win at Melford Working
Men’s C, recording a host of 20-plus breaks topped off
with a fine 38 by Mike Hazell in the final frame of the evening.

Earls Colne B enjoyed a 4-1 success at Sudbury SC B.

Aiden Kench kept up his unbeaten record by winning the opening frame, and captain Andy Shelton quickly made it two.

However, any hopes Colne had of picking up all five frames were dashed in frame three as Jon Tatum kept up his fine record this season by convincingly overcoming Colin Ballard.

Tatum was unable to maintain that form in his second frame as he was edged out by Rob Evans.

Evans returned for the fifth frame and, helped by a break of 44, restricted his opponent Bryan Sinclair to one point.

Lavenham Legion A remain best placed to challenge the two leaders as they claimed a 4-1 win over rock bottom S Club 47.

The match was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests, with four of the five frames being decided on either pink or black.

Earls Colne A picked up a 5-0 win against Sudbury SC B, who had been on a good run in recent weeks.

The Hedingham derby match was won by Sible by four frames to one against newcomers The Hedingham, who they move ahead of in the table. This was another close-frames match.
