Sudbury Town darts team fell to a third successive defeat in the Suffolk Super League with a 5-3 loss away at Felixstowe.
Felixstowe took the opening game as Alan Currivan beat Dan Tatum (22.23 average) by three legs to one, but Sudbury drew level as Brett Claydon hit a 180 and secured another man-of-the-match award with his 28.88 average in a 3-1 win over Stephen Barker.
Ian Taylor (16.51 ave) went down 3-1 to Johnny King as Felixstowe restored their lead and went further ahead as Ian Randles (19.05 ave) missed doubles and went down 3-2 to Mick Hare.
John Attwater (20.37 ave) took the next one for Sudbury, beating Ben Poulton 3-1, but Felixstowe went 4-2 ahead as Mark Theobald (17.64 ave) was beaten 3-0 by Keith Wright.
Martin Totman (25.21 ave) kept Sudbury in the game with another good display to beat the experienced Stuart Greenhalgh 3-0, but Glenn Bentley (16.91 ave) couldn’t quite rescue a draw for Town in the last game as he went down in a deciding leg to Anthony Baker.
n There were good performances from the Sudbury Town players representing Suffolk Men’s B team in the weekend’s British Inter County Championship darts match against Bedfordshire.
Both Dan Tatum and Ian Randles were victors by three legs to two, while Sudbury skipper John Attwater was in excellent form as he ran out a 3-0 winner – his 26.37 average secured him the Suffolk man of the match award.
Suffolk ran out 22-14 winners overall to go fourth in the BICC Division Two.
