Sudbury Motorcycle Club members performed well at the 2015 Muntjac Enduro in Thetford Forest.
The event, which was organised by the Diss Motorcycle Club, had 210 entries for the 11th and final round of the Edmondson Racing/ACU British Enduro Championship.
Rider Craig Roper led the club results by finishing 12th overall in the Expert Class of the event and second in the Expert E1/2 sub Class, which secured his place as the second best rider in Great Britain for that sub Class.
Others Sudbury members in the Expert Class were Stevie Roper, who finished 14th and got two points, and Steve Mason, who managed a 15th place finish and got one point.
Meanwhile, in the Championship Class Jamie Roper was up against the elite in the Country but still managed to finish 14th and secured nine points in his E2 sub Class with a seventh place finish.
Alex Rampton made his debut in the Clubman Class of the British Championship and finished 10th, while Alex Walton finished 18th and Daniel Piper had a 51st place finish.
In the Over-40 Veteran Class, which had a lot of Sudbury riders, Gavin Hockey and Phil Roper finished the best with their seventh and eighth places respectively.
Graham Mays finished seventh with Chris Ginn ended in 11th position In their Over-50 Veteran Class.
Finally, in the Sportsman Class club members Jeff Turner and Dean Curry were battling against each other in the same class.
This ended with Turner coming out on top finishing third with Curry in fifth.
n Halstead and District Motorcycle Club held their 2015 annual meeting recently with chairman Keith Weavers giving a brief report of the club’s motocross year at Wakes Colne.
Halstead Club riders have had a very good season in both the Expert and Junior Eastern Centre Championships.
The best-placed Experts were Brad Tomlin and Jason Morland, and the Junior Championship was taken by John Hinz, who will be riding as an Expert in 2016.
The annual meeting was also informed that the club’s lady motocross rider, Lucy Tatam, still hopes to be riding next year following her injury.
The club’s 2016 fixtures are not yet available, the club will still hold top class meetings at their famous Wakes circuit.
