Sudbury Storms made an impressive start to their 2016 season at the recent Suffolk County Championships.
Despite the absence of some of the team, due to being at university or illness, the club’s competing swimmers were still able to achieve 43 personal best times and a further 17 top eight finishes in the county’s biggest event of the calendar year.
The personal best times were achieved by the following: Lauren Martin, Zellah Chambers, Katie Chambers, Sophie Murray, Abi Walton, Hayley Collins, Georgie Hodgson, Caitlin Evans, Maria Grumann, James Rowley, Sam Roberts, Orion Nichol, Alex Curran, Chris Greenhalgh and Olivia Sherred.
There was also unofficial personal bests for Sophie Murray, Rachel Budd, Katie Chambers and Amber Mabbutt in their relay race.
Meanwhile, Chris Greenhalgh claimed three medals and a further three regional qualifying times, while Zellah Chambers also completed a three-medal haul of her own.
In the 50m backstroke, James Rowley finished fifth, but did so in a club-record time.
