The Sudbury and District Snooker League’s 12 minute Team Cup quarter-finals saw some high-scoring matches.
The biggest was at The Hedingham as visitors Earls Colne B amassed 941 points over 10 frames with eight of the frames being re-racked. Colin Ballard top scored with 118 points.
Holders Earls Colne A made it through to the semi-finals in a much more hard-fought encounter at Melford Working Mens C (501-326).
Lavenham Legion B kept on course for a treble as they beat Sible Hedingham 496-274 to book their place in the semi-finals.
Tonight (Thursday) see the semi-finals take place as Earls Colne A host Lavenham Legion B and Lavenham Legion A host Earls Colne B.
Meanwhile, Lavenham Legion B’s Dave Mortier has won the League Singles competition after a thrilling final against Earls Colne A’s Dave Stuart.
In the final, held at Melford Working Mens Club, Mortier raced into a two-frame lead only for Stuart to fight back to 2-2.
In a close third frame it was Stuart who held the advantage before two breaks of 20 and 15 saw Mortier home to victory.
