Halstead and District Motor Cycle Club rider Jason Morland took third place to finish third in the final championship standings at the GH Motorcycles-organised Husaberg Eastern Centre Solo Enduro Championships, held at Tunstall, Norfolk.
Lewis Tombs, competing in the World MX2 MX Championships, finished with two points after 17 rounds of the series, a fine achievement for the class of riders in this championship.
One of the club’s stars of Side Car Motocross riding in Classic Scrambles after many years of international and nationals is Shaun Mallows with Colin Dunkley as passenger.
Mallows, from Tiptree, and Dunkley took top place overall after two wins from their three races in the Pre-84 Class, the meeting being organised by Mortimer Club.
The final round of the Bickers Lifting Eastern Centre Solo Championship, being held at Diss club’s Wattisfield Hall circuit, will see who takes third and fourth place in the championship, between Brad Tomlin and Jason Morland in the Expert Championship.
In the Junior Championship, going to Wattisfield Hall currently in eighth place is Harry Mills, with Carl Parker two adrift in 10th.
Halstead Club’s final meeting of the motocross season at Wakes Colne, will take place on Sunday, September 29, when they host a round of Maxxis British Side Car Championship plus supporting solos.
It will include a cheque presentation between 12.30pm to 1.30pm for £1,500 that the club has raised for Essex Air Ambulance.
