Keen cyclists and enthusiastic spectators will be treated to a spectacular view on Saturday night as 1,500 riders speed through Sudbury.
The cyclists will be competing in the Dunwich Dynamo, a 120-mile overnight ride from London Fields in Hackney to Dunwich beach in Suffolk.
They are expected to pass through Sudbury at around midnight, having set off at 8pm, and hope to finish about 11 hours later.
They will enter Sudbury down Ballingdon Hill and will weave through the signposted route, stopping off at the Stour Valley Business Centre, where Torque Bikes will be offering repairs and Weston’s Café will be providing refreshments.
The businesses will be open from 10pm on Saturday to 4am on Sunday for any spectators hoping to see the riders.
Christine Weston, from Weston’s Café, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming all the bikers, even though the thought of serving tea from 10pm to 4am is a little daunting.
“We are really excited to be able to help the participants to the finish line.”
