Joggers come through wet conditions

There was a brilliant turnout of Sudbury Joggers for the Hadleigh five and 10-mile events on Sunday, with 26 members taking part.

The weather was monsoon like with parts of the course flooded, but the Joggers still had some superb results.

In the five-mile event, Sandy Thorogood continued her great form, winning her age group in a time of 37 minutes and 42 seconds.

Along with Tina Gore (42.18), and Sarah Pennock (45.47), she won the ladies’ team prize for the Joggers.

Other five mile results: Mick Earle 46.37, Bianca Burman 47.10, Chris Howard 54.23, Melonie Evans 56.45, Hayley Gunn-Bruce 59.34, Jody Swain 1.05.35.

Barbara White and Sharon Breward could not complete the distance due to a knee problem for White.

Tom Challener was first home for the Joggers in the 10-mile race, stopping the clock at one hour four minutes 33 seconds.

He was followed by Andy Buck (1.04.56), Malcolm Penn (1.07.48), Ben Cuthbert (1.09.20), Jem Smith (1.09.38), Charles Hann (1.11.35), Jason Smith (1.16.21), Jackie Hann (1.24.25), Paul Gwynne (1.25.57), Nina Webb (1.27.06), Dom Turner (1.30.35), Gin Craig (1.30.35), Lisa Dalton (1.36.10), Lindsey Hobden (1.39.32), Robert Edge (1.43.38).
