Golfers present cheque to the Salvation Army

The old and bold section may be one of the smallest at Newton Green Golf Club, but it has a big heart when it comes to fund raising.

At the group’s annual meeting, retiring captain Michael George handed over a cheque for £947 to Sudbury Salvation Army.

The cheque was received by Captain Emma Knights who, in return, presented the golfers with a certificate of appreciation.

This is the first time any group at the club has supported the Salvation Army and the money will be used for community work.
