The Kuk Sool Won Sudbury Summer Camp at Bradfield Park, near Bury St Edmunds, took place over the weekend and 50 students were able to enjoy a wide range of workshops.

Korean Archery (using traditional recurve bows), sword and staff sparring and rope techniques were led by head instructor PSBN Karen Smith and KSN Paul Bell-Tye.

JKN Nathan Kelly led short stick training and JKN Barry Slade a session on physical fitness.

There was also a boxing skills session led by sergeant major Andrew Paton (Royal Anglians).

The weekend was the culmination of a busy and highly successful year involving class and national testings, promotions, UK and European tournaments and titles and fundraising events for both the Red Cross and Cancer Research UK, with more than £800 having been raised.

As soon as the camp ended the 14 students comprising this year’s demo team went over to Belle Vue Park in Sudbury to perform a display in the arena at Party in the Park.

The school is now closed for summer but resumes classes on Sunday, September 8 at the Kingfisher Leisure Centre.

New beginners are welcome and the first four classes are free. For further information please call Karen on 07751932408 or visit their website:
