League leaders Sible Hedingham fell to a four frames to two defeat to Sudbury Snooker Club D, with Mick Drury winning both his matches in the Widdop League Cup group encounter.
The first frame saw Bill Hemmett play George Williams, with the latter’s good start helping him to the win.
Drury came up against Steve Kane and, taking advantage of his handicap, he went into an early lead.
Kane managed to pull it back and it was nip and tuck until Drury potted brown to pink to gain a very good win.
Next up was a messy frame between Frank Ervine and Jo Kane Jnr, which saw the latter pot a lucky pink and then the white stopped on the black for him to clinch the frame.
Hemmett against Kane was a close frame decided on the final pink, with Hemmett being punished for missing a chance to pot the pink for the game and losing it on a black-ball decider.
Ervine against Williams was a tight frame until Williams potted yellow to pink to clinch the frame.
In the last frame, Drury managed a comfortable win against Kane Jnr.
Sible have now completed all their matches and remain unbeaten, therefore qualifying for the semi-finals as group leaders.
The other qualifiers are still to be determined.
Earls Colne played another double header in an attempt to catch up on the backlog of games.
On table one, Justin Rogers won both his games to help Colne beat Sudbury B with James Monk and Luke Heard winning a frame each.
Shaun Baldock and Martin Maxim won a frame each for Sudbury’s points.
On the other table Colne started well with Heard winning the first, helped by a 43 break.
But Haverhill won the next five thanks to some good potting and some luck. The highlight was a 29 break from Charlie Ripp.
