Cycle Club Sudbury rider Simon Daw took part in the Norfolk Wheelers’ 100-mile open time trial near Hillingdon.

On a warm day, Daw completed the first 50 miles in two hours nine minutes and suffering from dehydration, slowed to 2.20 for the second.

While Daw was not pleased with his time it is the fastest 100 this year to date.

n The club time trial took place on the Brent Eleigh course on a showery day, which reduced the field to 18 riders.

Despite the slippery conditions, several riders posted significant improvements: Doz Bree 20mins 33secs; Lee
Ford 20.12; Brian Mann 22.40.

The winner on the night was Darren Rule in 19 minutes dead from Rob Davies (19.06) whose time included a 12-second penalty for a late start.
