Ipswich II 1 Sudbury 4

Sudbury maintained their fine form, against local rivals, the opening goal coming from a high press on the Ipswich defence, Will Chrystal slotting home. Sudbury’s second came from a well-worked sideline ball routine, Alfie Lawrence’s square pass setting up Chrystal.

Dan Birch forced to ball home in a scramble, but Ipswich struck back from a counterattack.

The final goal of the end-to-end match came from a short corner, Chrystal hammering home to complete his hat-trick.

Dan McGuiness in goal was kept on his toes, making some superb saves.

n Sudbury II travelled to Norwich Dragons Seconds with just 11 players, and were beaten 9-1 in their Division Three North East fixture. Dragons took the lead, Sudbury replying when centre back Mike Bull started an attack, Callum Rolfe’s strike being deflected in by a defender.
Sudbury lost two players before the interval as tempers frayed, and Dragons took advantage, despite some superb saves by Chris Smith.

n Sudbury III fielded a full team against Bury Fourths in Division Five North East, and were rewarded with a 7-1 victory. Sudbury started briskly, and a strike from Andrew Swiney, on his debut, was helped over the line by Simon Hardingham.

Phil Bonner set up the second for Hardingham, with Swiney getting the third.

Sudbury were 4-1 up at the interval, thanks to Hardingham, who went on to grab a fourth in the second half, the final goal of the game. Andrew Bryce and Gavin Underhay got the other goals.
