PROMISING Stoke-by-Nayland golfer Scott Brace finished seventh in the Northern Arizona Amateur event at the Antelope Hills Golf Club in Prescott Arizona.

Brace, who is currently in his last term of a scholarship at the University of San Diego, fired rounds of 72 and 68 - the second lowest of the day - to secure another impressive top 10 finish.

“I was really pleased with how the weekend went,” said Brace. “My degree is very important to me and as soon as I get it finished in January my plans are to then concentrate solely on my golf.”

The Northern Arizona Amateur is the third Arizona Golf Association event Brace has competed in this year. He also played in the Southern Arizona Amateur as well as the Falcon Amateur, (finishing third and fourth respectively) while he was taking classes this summer in Phoenix.

After he finishes school in January, Scott plans on returning to England where he will play a packed schedule of amateur golf throughout 2012 before deciding whether to turn pro in 2013.
