Blue Dragon kickboxing club travelled to Risby to take part in the Suffolk Combat series, coming away with varied success.

Facing competitors from across Suffolk, the club came away with three wins and three defeats.

The first to be crowned victorious was nine-year-old Mitch Lawson who enjoyed a debut win against Aston Carpenter of AJS Kickboxing Club.

More success followed as seven-year-old Scott Stannard overcame MK1’s Kye Callan and Mark Lawson defeated Robert Heath of Pegasus Martial Arts.

Georgia Barrs was unfortunate to lose out narrowly to Abi Turp, taking the fight at short notice.

Fifteen-year-old Will Helms gave a promising debut against the more experienced James Bartoszk, narrowly missing out with his opponent landing more scoring kicks.

Last to feature was Jack Fletcher, who was competing in five-round ICO national title bout against Daniel Baxter from CMA.

After a close contest, the fight went to a split decision with Baxter being awarded victory by just a single point.
