Bay Horse A made the short trip to the Brewery Tap in the Industrial Electrical Services Sudbury and District Bar Billiard League KO Cup second round second leg holding a comfortable 6-1 lead.

Tap’s task was unenviable, and the tie was over as the visitors won both doubles.

Alasdair Carnegie increased the lead, and Jeremy Fry continued the rout. The closest game saw Steve Hale just beat Pat Parmenter 1230-1150 despite the latter’s 630 break.

The whitewash looked on the cards as Jason Lawrence scored breaks of 630 and 660 to top score with 2300.

But Tap’s blushes were saved when Charlie Sansum beat Dave Lillie, Bay Horse scoring a convincing 12-2 aggregate victory.

The Ladies’ KO Cup and Landlords’ Cup were held at the Bay Horse. Tracy Reeve (Edwardstone Wild Horses) beat Elaine Wright in the final having earlier beaten Sarah Watts (Mauldons Adders) 2240-610. Wright had seen off the challenges of Gillian Towse and Amie Darroch.

In the Landlords’ Cup host Chris Drake took full advantage of home table knowledge beating John Henderson (Stanningfield Red House) and Kevin Dignam (Hadleigh Cock), with Henderson claiming runner-up spot.
