THURLOW NUNN LEAGUE CUP Haverhill Borough 0

Long Melford 2

Despite a spirited performance by the Borough, Melford’s workmanlike performance proved enough to take them through.

Matt Hayden, who saw a shot hacked off the line in the first half, opened the scoring four minutes into the second, following a good run from Nathan Rowe.

Borough tried to fight back, and twice went close, but substitute Will Finch wrapped things up three minutes into injury time, thanks to a fine centre from Ross Waugh.
