FOUR of the cups awarded at the Border Invitation League’s final presentation night were collected by Long Melford Working Men’s Club.
There to hand out the awards at Glemsford Social Club was Free Press sports writer Sam Murley.
The evening started with 62 members taking part in a crib drive. Winning six of the seven games Peter Bolton and Paul Edmondson, of Glemsford Black Lion A, took the first prize of £10 each, runners-up were John Sharp and Ken Harding (Clare Swan) who each received £5. The booby prize went to Dave and Margret Butin (Glemsford Cock).
Following the buffet Murley made the presentations to all the winners and runners-up.

n The final of the Glemsford and District Knockout Cup, played at Clare Cock, finished in a 10-5 win for the Clare Ex Service Club.
Shimpling Bush won one table 3-2, but the 4-1 results on the other two tables sealed their fate. Last season they knocked out the Ex-Service Club 10-5 in the first round only to lose 8-7 in the final.
