Joggers out in force

Sudbury Joggers were out in force with many taking part in various events.

Friday night saw 20 Joggers compete in the third Friday 5 Series of races, this time at Bury. First home for the club was Tom Challener in 29 minutes and 48 seconds, followed by Ben Cuthber (30:58), Andy Buck (31:25), Ady Frost (32:13), Malcolm Penn (32:21), Charles Hann (33:35), Clive Davey (34:15), Andy Glass (34:33), Jonathan Price (38:39), Wayne Mumford (39:10), Dom Turner (39:47) and David Chapman (40.43).

Meanwhile, Louise Hampshire was first lady home for the Joggers in a time of 35:02 followed very closely by Sandy Thorogood (35:03), Jackie Hann (38:49), Sarah Pennock (43:52), Mel Evans (47:16), Sharon Breward (52:50), Stacey Richardson (53:28) and Lindsay Hobden (53:28)

On Saturday Sharon White and Karen Chambers took part in the Wattisham Triathlon consisting of a 300 metre swim, followed by 20km cycle and a 5km run. Both improved on last year’s times, gaining personal bests, White finishing in one hour five minutes and 43 seconds while Chambers came home in 5.43 and Karen finished in 1:21:50.

On Sunday Bianca Burman completed the Flitch Way Half Marathon in a time of just over two hours while Steve Roulton completed the Southend Half Marathon in a time of 1:59.
