Hunnable on target again for Sudbury
EAST WOMEN’S LEAGUE
Sudbury 5 Colchester II 1
Chloe Hunnable grabbed a hat-trick as Sudbury comfortably beat local rivals, Hunnable scoring her first in the opening minutes.
Sudbury were awarded a short corner, hit out by Gemma Jones and converted by Hunnable with a drag flick into the top corner.
Becky Spencer worked well on the wing with runs and skilful play to find Katie Crace and Jones up front helping the ball into the D.
Colchester had few chances thanks to excellent defending by Ellen Seeley, Katie Clark and Emma Stephan, as well as fine saves from keeper Lizzie Anderson.
In the second half, Sudbury’s play improved, with better passing and communication.
Kirsty Batch and Ali Smith played well in the middle, finding Tracy Caddock on the wing and Mandy Coleman in space up front.
Sudbury’s third goal came in open play by Hunnable to complete her hat-trick.
Spencer found her way into the D and scored Sudbury’s fourth, but Colchester pulled one back after a scramble.
However, Sudbury stayed positive, and their final goal came after more skilful play from Spencer when she crossed to Hunnable, who hit the ball cleanly on the first touch.
