Former Hadleigh boy Reece Topley on target as England take ODI series lead

By Adrian Curtisadrian.curtis@iliffemedia.co.uk

Reece Topley took one wicket as England beat Pakistan by six wickets in the third One Day International in Sharjah on Tuesday, giving England an unbeatable 2-1 lead in the series.

Pakistan were dismissed for 208, England replying with 210-4 after a shaky start.

Topley, who played as a junior at Hadleigh before moving to Essex, finished with figures of 1-41 in his ten overs, with the bowling honours going to Chris Woakes, who took four wickets for 40 runs.

England looked to be in trouble at 93-4 in their reply, but an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 117 between James Taylor (67no) and Jos Butler (49no) saw them home with nine overs to spare, for their second straight victory.

The final ODI is in Dubai tomorrow (Friday).
