AFC Sudbury Falcons Under-12s were in irresistible form when Max Cullinane bagged a brace in their 6-0 defeat of Abbey Saints.
Falcons started on the front foot with Cory Willings opening the scoring after good work by Finlay Anderson, before Max Cullinane, Eloise King and Josh Hughes all got on the scoresheet to ensure a big half-time lead.
A quieter second half saw Falcons score two more, with Anderson making it 5-0 and Cullinane grabbing his second.
James McGregor ensured his team kept a clean sheet with a couple of good saves before the final whistle.
Cornard Dynamos Under-10s produced their best display of the season with a 4-2 away win against Rowhedge.
Morgan Waldock twice set-up Jack Hurrell to give Dynamos a two-goal lead, which was halved by the interval.
Alfie Haygreen made it 3-1 to Dynamos before Rowhedge once again reduced the arrears, but were denied an equaliser by a save from Ben Mallinson and block from Lewis Miller
Lewis Bohen sealed the points after a strong run and pass by Ben Iannone.
Great Cornard Dynamos Under-10s lost by the odd goal to Rowhedge Reds despite an energetic performance from Josh Ambrose.
The hosts took the lead in the first ten minutes, which proved to be the decisive goal in a closely-fought encounter at Rowhedge.
n AFC Sudbury Grassroots will be launching its ‘fitness through football’ Saturday club next month after receiving investment from Lloyds bank, as reported in last week’s Free Press.
Head coach Tony New said: “The Saturday club is designed for people who want to get fit, have fun and maybe progress to playing in a team in the future.”

The successful candidate will be on a fixed-term contract until June 2015, with a possible extension subject to continuing FA funding.

n The Football Association (FA) has launched its ‘Be Inspired Fund’ which will enable girls football clubs and organisations in Suffolk to apply for up to £3,000.
The scheme hopes to increase the participation of females aged 14-25 years in football, as well as add to the number of active female role models in the girls’ game.
