Weekend round-up: Rotten form for the area

AFC Sudbury had the best result of the weekend for our teams, despite seeing their Ryman One North clash with Waltham Abbey called off.

That is because Sudbury rugby suffered a 24-10 loss to Norwich, while all four Thurlow Nunn League sides lost.

Hadleigh United were beaten 4-2 by Walsham-le-Willows in the Premier Division while, in the First Division, Cornard United lost 4-0 to Fakenham Town, Long Melford were beaten 2-1 at Saffron Walden Town and Halstead Town lost 3-0 at high-flying Newmarket Town.

Both Norwich City and Ipswich Town scored 1-1 draws on Saturday, but will be in entirely different moods.

Ipswich remained entrenched in the npower Championship relegation zone after drawing with Peterborough United, one of their rivals for the drop.

Norwich earned a point at high-flying Everton in the Barclays Premier League.
