AFC Sudbury managed to level from 2-0 down at Maldon and Tiptree on Tuesday night before a late strike saw the visitors saw the Essex hosts take all three points.

Captain Sam Clarke and James Baker were both on target for the Yellows, who drop to 12th in the early Ryman League Division One North table.

In the Thurlow Nunn League First Division, Long Melford could not build on their win at Stowmarket Town on Saturday at Debenham LC as they went down to a 4-2 defeat.

Halstead Town saw off higher-league Takeley in the first round of the Essex Senior Cup first round with a 3-2 win at Rosemary Lane.
