Halstead allowed the home side to level in a late breakaway on Saturday.

With promising forward Ellis Carter moving to Stanway, Halstead made a good start by taking the lead after 10 minutes when Jordan
Palmer turned in Jon Thorogood’s rebound.

Two minutes into the second half Halstead increased their lead when Jon Root nipped in to tap home at the near post but were pegged back to 2-2 with two Mitch Forbes goals in five minutes, the first coming after Lewis Cunliffe had lost possession.

On 76 minutes Halstead went ahead again when an almighty goalmouth scramble ended with Tom Barry firing home through but Yarmouth struck back for 3-3 through Joel Watts with Halstead’s Murray red carded late on.

nHalstead lost 3-2 at home to Braintree Town Reserves on Tuesday, while the reserves beat Wivenhoe 2-1 on Saturday under new boss Lloyd Owers.
