Hadleigh United continued their climb up the table on Tuesday evening with a convincing win at bottom side FC Clacton.

The only goal of the first half saw Jerrell Layne put the Brettsiders in front.

Clacton drew level through Aaron Condon but Ollie Canfer and Marcus Josiah gave Hadleigh a comfortable lead.

Young Tom Driscoll made the final score 4-1 with his first ever senior goal.

The result leaves Stuart Crawford’s side in seventh position, eight points behind leaders Dereham Town but with games in hand on four of the top six.

FA Vase quarter finalists Hadleigh host ninth-placed Norwich United, five points behind them in the table, at the Millfield on Saturday (3pm) as they look for their third straight win.
