Hadleigh United moved up to seventh in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division with a 4-2 home victory over Gorleston on Saturday afternoon.
In front of the smallest crowd of the season at the Millfield, Danny Thrower netted a brace for the hosts, while Marley Spindler and Liam Scopes weighed in with further goals.
It was Thrower that broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute, following a goalmouth scramble, but the visitors from Norfolk hit back with strikes either side of the interval, from Kyle Ingram and Peter Lambert.
However, Spindler restored parity in the 71st minute before Hadleigh regained the lead moments later when Thrower converted after Scott Chaplin’s effort had struck the post.
The points were made safe three minutes from time when Scopes volleyed in from a corner.
This Saturday, Ian Brown’s side travel to 19th-placed Fakenham Town (3pm), who have won only one of their last six games.
n Cornard United slipped to a seventh successive defeat away at March Town United last weekend, while this Saturday they play host to Team Bury (3pm).
