Hadleigh United 3
Hadleigh United gained their first win of the pre-season with a creditable performance against Leiston at the Millfield.
The Ryman Premier League side took an early, lead but triallist Marley Spindler levelled before the interval. Spindler signed for the club on Tuesday night.
Scott Chaplin put Hadleigh in front before Danny Thrower completed the scoring just before the end.
Two days earlier, manager Ian Brown used a different side for each half against Colchester United Under-18s at home.
The first half was goalless, but headers from Aaron Churchyard and Paul Donnelly put Hadleigh two goals ahead early in the second period.
However, the young U’s pulled one back before levelling from a penalty kick following a foul.
A header in the last minute gave Colchester a 3-2 win.
Both matches attracted crowds of more than 100.
Hadleigh Reserves gained a nine-goal win at Whitton, with goals coming at regular intervals last Saturday.
