Cornard United go into Saturday’s home game with Swaffham Town (3pm) on the verge of completing an entire year without a league win.

The Blackhouse Lane club last tasted a Thurlow Nunn First Division victory on October 29, in a 3-0 home success over Ipswich Wanderers.

Chris Symes’ side have since endured a torrid run of results with a high turnover of players, the latest being a 14-0 league record defeat at Debenham LC on Saturday.

With their next league game following it not until November 10 at Stowmarket Town, it means their fixture with 12th-placed Swaffham Town (four wins from 10)could set another unwanted record.

Sorry Cornard have only picked up 17 points since the start of the 2010/11 season.

They have so far shipped an eye-watering 52 goals across their opening 10 games, following on from 100 in 30 games last season.
