Dickens’ take win in mixed event

The popular Bank Holiday Monday Jubilee Salvers mixed competition was played in warm, sunny conditions on Stoke-by-Nayland’s Gainsborough course.

Twenty four pairs made up the field for the exacting foursomes format.

Although scoring was difficult, Tracey and Tim Dickens led the competition with a creditable 35 points. It was their first win in this prestigious mixed event.

In second place were Lesley and Barry Hitchcock with 33 points. They just beat Bonnie and Graham Head on count-back.

The Salvers were presented to the winners by club captain Julian Lamb.

Tim Dickens thanked the greenkeepers for working so hard to prepare the course and the catering staff for the meal.
