Bees are swatted away by Town
Sudbury Town darts team ended their recent run of draws with a comprehensive 8-0 victory over Haverhill Bees in the Suffolk Super League.
Mark Theobald (27.33 ave & 180) got Sudbury off to a flying start, taking the opening leg with a 154 finish, before securing a 3-0 win over Gary Manning and the Man of the Match award.
Brett Claydon (25.91 ave & 180) took the second game 3-0 against Sandy Dickson, before the closest game of the night saw Martin Totman (21.44 ave) edge out Danny Maloney in a deciding leg to put Sudbury 3-0 up.
Stuart Bull (25.47 ave & 180) gave an assured performance to beat ex-Town player Nick Wright 3-0, and Steve Carrett (22.77 ave) put Sudbury into an unassailable lead with a 3-0 win over Dean Russell.
Ian Randles (23.21 ave) beat Craig Brown 3-1, before Jason Stalker (27.08 ave) beat Jack Lewis 3-1.
John Attwater (21.53 ave) completed the whitewash, winning 3-1 against Dave Blackburn.
n Suffolk drew 18-18 with West Midlands in their latest British Inter Counties Championship Division Two match.
John Attwater (23.03 ave) played for the Men’s B team, but lost 3-1 to Avtar Singh, while there was also defeat for Sudbury team-mate Ian Randles (24.37 ave) and Lavenham’s Dan Tatum (22.79 ave) in the Men’s A match.
But Sudbury’s Martin Totman (25.12 ave) won his game for the Men’s A team 4-3 against Matthew Dicken. Suffolk also drew 18-18 with Wiltshire. Totman (20.74 ave & 180) had a 4-1 win over Stuart Maundrell, and Randles (25.29 ave) beat Adi Acott 4-3 for the A team.
In the B team Jason Stalker (22.87 ave & 180) is still searching for his first county win following a 3-1 defeat to Bob Phillips. Attwater (22.43 ave) had a 130 finish in his 3-0 win over Jeff Fowler.
